Progress Report: Sweet Fanny Adams

It’s a rainy day. I’d intended to do the housework, clean up some of the parts we’ll be reusing for Hornsby, and get to the bike store. But it was a bit too rainy and windy in the Workshop in the Sky, so I’ve just lazed about all day. (I got the housework done and put in a few minutes for a client.)

Blue Lug recently posted about Phil Wood spokes, and it got me thinking about the wheels I’d just built for Hornsby. I knew two things about them: they were a bit costly, and they’re beautiful. So I braved the elements on the Workshop to have a look.

Sure enough, there’s the logo on each spoke head. The salesman hadn’t made a point of it when we were figuring out the length and quantity, and I didn’t ask. (I know that Blue Lug features Phil Wood spokes in its online shop.)

Tomorrow the weather should be a bit more conducive to bike maintenance, while still not being quite good enough for a ride.
